By: Emanuel Blisovski | Last Updated: April 1, 2025

Many bloggers are most proficient is English related fields simply because they spend a lot of time reading and writing. If you’re looking for freelance work as a blogger and your spelling, grammar, and general English skills are up to par there is likely work waiting for you on your local Craigslist. Here are three common examples of jobs found on Craigslist a blogger may be interested in.

Guest Blogging: Many websites that are either just starting out or are desperate for more hits put out ads for bloggers willing to write guest posts for their site. Some of these are pay to play opportunities, where for example, they agree to pay you $20 in exchange for a well written and well-researched blog post. They may also offer shared publicity opportunities and even if they don’t offer a cash incentive it is probably a good way to get your name out there. Like many fields blogging has a whole lot to do with name recognition.

Online Tutoring: Are you a calm and patient person who works well with others? Then you may want to check your local Craigslist for online tutoring opportunities. These largely vary case by case but in general, will probably work by you and your client agreeing to an hourly wage and then working with them for a few hours a week. You probably won’t make tons of money but if you get a few student clients you may be pleasantly surprised at the boost in your income. English tutors are almost always in demand either in person or via Skype so a trip to your local craigslist is the best place to start. If not you can also list your own ad giving your rate and contact info then wait for people to come to you.

Editing: Often college students are willing to pay for proofreading and fact-checking on their papers. Often those papers can be upwards of 7 pages so its important you take your time and don’t get bored either if you decide to take a job like this. If you think this might be a fit for you, however, you can make as much as $10 a page. This service more so then any other on this list is all about word of mouth so its important you do a good job.
